First off, who with an ounce of dignity would even continue to shop at Eddie Bauer if not for the special exception of a hiking lamp and as for LL Bean? Grotesque. My friends at monogrammed lunchboxes from there in third grade. The article continues to note that Jantzen swimwear has debuted some sort of retro line picking from their old looks. They're not that bad, I will admit, but don't act like it's as common as AIDS in a third world country (cause it ain't). Basically, the question is, when has fashion not repeat itself? When have designers and second tier suburban brands with more outlet stores than the hairs on my stomach not taken inspiration from old things and revamped them to make it a little more "with the times"? Shoulder pads, belting things, harem pants; they're tales as a old as time. Aside from Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2010 heels (God bless his soul), I haven't seen anything new since my birth. Granted, that would be only 16 years of which I've lived, 14 of which I can remember, and probably a good 12 spent on actually noticing fashion (Ignorance was bliss; also, my vision became about as useful as a pole vaulter with polio so I'm subtracting a fair amount of time for that as well).
and though the picture isn't showing up I do hope that it actually does in the post, if not, I'll just link it later. Oh well I guess it's not showing up but if you click on that slit thing it will. The shoes were also worn by Lady G, my fave woman, in Bad Romance if you've seen the vid (if you haven't, watch it. 'Tis an eye feast.). The "walk walk fashion baby" part. Also, coincidentally (hmph, what are the odds of all of these things corresponding? Is it fate, and what lyfe is trying to tell me is that Kim needs to see Gagaloo in concert and also work with high fashion?) my favorite part of the song.
Basically, what this blog needs is a direction. Because right now, I"m jumping all over the place with my thoughts/ideas, a creative genius thing if you will. But a blog always has one focus, a main topic, unles oyu're an emo girl typing about how much your life sucks or if you're writing fiction (..another idea. I"ve never tried it, but the good Lord knows I've read enough to bust one out myself.) and then once it's established, it can venture off into yesteryear and talk aobut whatever the hell nt wants to. Like, say, uh PURSEBLOG! ...well garsh I guess I don't really know. But if I did they'd probably be focusing on purses and then soehow venture into a weekly/daily/however often it comes up post about Real Housewives of __________. Classy.
